We’re interviewing 20 senior housing leaders about where confidence in data and AI holds — and where it breaks. Participants receive the report before publication and an invitation to the launch roundtable.
About
Who’s behind this
I’m Maryam Idris. I work at the point where data, decisions and people meet in social housing.
As a performance analyst, I build the frameworks, databases and reporting that leadership teams and boards rely on. Which means I spend my days with a question most organisations find uncomfortable: how confident are we, really, in the numbers we’re making decisions with?
I came into housing from tech, with a degree in AI and data science, and I didn’t expect to stay. I did — because in housing the numbers are never just numbers. Every row is somebody’s home.
Data Habitat grew out of that. I help housing organisations build confidence in their data before a system migration, ahead of a regulatory deadline, or as AI starts entering how they work. I’m currently running AI Confidence in Scottish Housing 2026, interviewing 20 senior leaders across the sector, and I’ll be speaking at the HouseMark Data & AI Summit in Birmingham this November.
